Join Our Patient Groups: Weight Loss, Walking & Balance Exercise
This new initiative has been established by the Patient Advisory Group. There are three groups to join: Weight Loss Group (‘Choose to lose’), Balance Exercise Group and Walking Group (Walk ‘n Talk). The groups are open to patients of the Practice aged 18 years and above.
The Weight Loss Group, called ‘Choose to lose’, will follow the NHS 12 week weight loss plan and members will be expected to attend every week. The Weight Loss Group will meet once a week on a Monday evening at 5.45 pm in the Health Education room at the Practice and last for 1 hour. There will be speakers each week to help you achieve your aims.
The Walking Group (Walk ‘n Talk) will take place on various dates and times to be arranged. The intention of this group is two fold, firstly to provide exercise for the Weight Loss Group but also is an opportunity for patients who perhaps haven’t felt comfortable going a walk alone, or have felt socially isolated through the lockdown period which has impacted on their physical and mental wellbeing.
The Balance Group is a seated exercise group for patients who are less able and could not join the walking group. It will meet every Wednesday afternoon at 2pm in the Health Education room at the Practice and last for 1 hour.
