Dr Stewart joined Monifieth Medical Practice in 1996 having graduated from Dundee University in 1988 and subsequently trained as a GP trained in Tayside. He has enjoyed looking after the community of Monifieth over the last 28 years and watching the village and practice change and grow over the years. Dr Stewart has maintained an interest in sports medicine, minor surgery and steroid joint injections though out his practice, and has further training in respiratory medicine. He enjoys the challenge of managing skin conditions in general practice, and also shares the running of our baby clinic.

Dr Alison J Clement

Dr Alison Clement MBChB FRCGP has been a partner in Monifieth Medical Practice since August 2009. She particularly enjoys caring for elderly patients, having previously been involved in setting up our enhanced community support model of care. She has an interest in women's health, fitting coils and nexplanons, and supports the care of residents in the South Grange Nursing Home. Dr Clement combines her work in Monifieth with her role as Associate Medical Director for Angus Health and Social Care Partnership.

Dr Karen Steven

Dr Steven joined the practice in August 2009. She is a part-time partner working Monday, Tuesday and Thursday mornings and all day Wednesday. Dr Steven has additional skills in fitting coils and contraceptive implants. She supervises the students and junior doctors in the practice.

Dr McDonald joined the practice in 2011, having graduated from Dundee University in 2005. He enjoys the varied spectrum of clinical work in general practice and has been instrumental in organising the way we look after our diabetic patients. He also has a keen interest in palliative care and is the practice lead in this area. Dr McDonald is also a GP trainer, supervising trainee doctors in the practice who are en route to becoming GPs.

Dr Saima Ali

Dr Saima Ali joined the practice in August 2014 as a GP partner. She graduated from the University of Aberdeen in 2006 and completed her GP training in Perth. Following this Dr Ali worked as a GP Retainer in her training practice and also did some out-of-hours work. She likes looking after the elderly patients within our practice and the care homes surrounding it. She is also a GP trainer, supervising our trainee doctors in the practice to become GPs. In addition to this she has a special interest in women's health.

Dr Natasha Usher

Dr Natasha Usher joined us in April 2016 as a full-time GP, having previously been a GP in Aberchirder in Aberdeenshire and prior to that GP in Dunbeath in Caithness for over ten years in a small rural practice. She has additional skills in joint injections and minor surgery, child health surveillance, dermatology, and diabetes and is also trained to fit Nexplanon. She is also the Practice Quality Lead and sits on the member of the South West Angus Locality Improvement Group and the Monifieth Practice Patient Advisory Group.

Dr Ruth McCullagh

Dr McCullagh graduated from Edinburgh University in 2005 and qualified as a GP in 2014. She joined the practice as a partner in 2019. Dr McCullagh enjoys all aspects of general practice work and has a special interest in women’s health and is the practice educational programme lead.

Provision is always made for urgent cases to be seen by the duty doctor on the day.
